AbstractThe California sea lion (Zalophus californianus) population in the Gulf of California has shown a significant abundance decline. However, its 13 breeding colonies have distinct individual dynamics modulated by regional environmental conditions. Thus, the relationship between environmental variability and population growth is complex and must be analyzed regionally. Los Islotes is the only colony that has steadily increased since the 1980s.

Chagas disease is one of the most significant vector-borne diseases in Mexico. The presence of “sylvatic” triatomine vectors of Trypanosoma cruzi (Chagas) inside human dwellings necessitates estimating their vectorial capacity. To estimate this capacity in Triatoma protracta nahuatlae (Ryckman), Triatoma sinaloensis (Ryckman), and their laboratory hybrids, 6 biological parameters were examined. Triatoma sinaloensis exhibited the shortest development time (155 days), with a median of 12 blood meals.

AbstractSBA-15 and Zn/SBA-15 mesoporous materials were synthesized by coprecipitation and incipient impregnation methods, respectively. Both materials were tested as adsorbents of quinoline (Q) adsorption in the presence of dibenzothiophene (DBT), changing temperature and nitrogen concentration. The textural and structural adsorbents results revealed that the Zn incorporation reduced the pore volume and the surface area by 23% and 27%, respectively, compared to the SBA-15 adsorbent.

AbstractHeart failure (also known as HF) is a clinical disorder triggered by functional and structural defects in cardiac muscles causing blood ejection or damage of ventricular filling. Even though the progression in the field of medicine, HF control, which generally presents as a syndrome, has been a task to healthcare sources. This is reproduced by the comparatively higher ration of readmissions with enhanced disease and death linked with HF.
