Construction crews marked a major milestone for a $156 million consolidated car-rental facility nearing completion at Gerald R. Ford International Airport that will streamline the rental process and free up more parking for travelers. Airport officials and construction partners gathered Tuesday morning to hold a ceremonial beam-raising for the airport’s consolidated rent-a-car, or CONRAC, facility being constructed on the northeast side of the airport terminal building.

A group representing 107 property owners in a lakeshore township near Holland has taken the next step in their three-year fight to resume operating short-term rentals. Varnum LLP attorney Kyle Konwinski, who represents the group Park Township Neighbors in the municipality of nearly 19,000 residents along Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa, presented an appeal on Monday to Park Township’s Zoning Board of Appeals.

A real estate investment firm wants to sell a historic building in East Hills that houses a popular coffee shop — just one month after acquiring the property. Grand Rapids-based Beeke Investments LLC, founded by Calvin Beeke, listed the building at 1035 Wealthy St. SE in Grand Rapids for sale for $595,000 on March 28 after acquiring it for $400,000 on Feb. 28 from former owner Kristin Sheline. Beeke Investments COO David Walkotten declined to comment for this report on behalf of the firm.
