    On the heels of a $2.1 billion capital raise, Grand Rapids-based fintech and insurance brokerage Acrisure LLC is spending $1.1 billion to acquire a global billing and payments provider. Acrisure said Wednesday it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Heartland Payment Systems, the payroll platform of Atlanta, Ga.-based Global Payments Inc. (NYSE: GPN). The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
