MEDAL RECIPIENTS: Crew and members of the station during their celebration Sir Robert Hastie, President of the station recently presented the King’s Coronation Medal to the volunteer crew and members of the Horton and Port Eynon Lifeboat Station at South Gower Sports Club. He also presented a Certificate of Service to Richard Davies for his long service to the RNLI as Deputy Press Officer. The presentation was followed by lunch for the crew, members of the station and their families.

The number of young people turning their lives around thanks to a sport and mentoring programme has doubled in the last year. Active Essex Foundation uses sport and physical activity as a way of reducing young people’s vulnerability to exploitation and criminality. As part of its Sport and Youth Crime Prevention Programme, the charity works with sports clubs to deliver the Sport and Life Skills intervention project.
