New Zealand authorities say they are investigating deaths with suspected links to the case of Kenneth Law, an Ontario man accused of selling lethal substances to people in more than 40 countries. The New Zealand Coroners Court has confirmed that it has received reports of deaths suspected to be linked to the activities of Law.

An investigation into lethal substances allegedly sold to those at risk of self-harm took on new dimensions Friday, after British police said they were now investigating the deaths of 88 people in connection to products purchased on Canadian-based websites. Experts, meanwhile, say the lethal products are being sold on a dangerous corner of the web that lacks oversight and regulation, and that more needs to be done to protect vulnerable individuals from people who prey on them.
