A long-awaited state salary study was released April 9, showing that a sizable number of Alaska state employees are underpaid when compared with other employers. More than a quarter of state of Alaska employees earn less than the 50th market percentile when compared with other surveyed employers, according to a study conducted by Segal, a private contractor hired by the administration of Gov. Mike Dunleavy to assess the competitiveness of Alaska wages.
