    Hoteliers in Rhodes have slashed prices and begged tourists to return as the mayor of the island said he would take legal action over alleged arson. Some five-star resorts have cut their prices by nearly half as they desperately try to lure tourists to fill hundreds of empty rooms. The north of the island is safe and not affected by wildfires but mass cancellations have left owners with no choice but to offer last-minute deals.
