A quarter (24 per cent) of ‘high performing’ employees only achieved this rating after spending at least 18 months in their role, research has found. Culture Amp’s study, The Science of Sustainable High Performance, analysed performance management data from 567,000 employees across 1,517 companies globally. It found that one of the biggest mistakes companies make in their approach to performance management is “thinking of high performance as a character trait”.

Women are more likely to leave their position than men if their employer mandated full-time office attendance, research has revealed. The survey by Hays of 8,000 employers and professionals in the UK found that 58 per cent of female workers said they would consider quitting their job if they could no longer work flexibly, compared with 42 per cent of their male counterparts.

More than a third of hybrid employees are taking fewer sick days than when they were working from the office full time, research has revealed. Of the 2,000 hybrid workers surveyed by International Workplace Group, two thirds (68 per cent) also said they experienced fewer stress-related health symptoms, such as severe headaches, digestive issues and tension-related pain, once they gained more flexibility.
