    Savannah, GA—Hundreds of residents and parade units gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday morning. Savannah’s 44th annual MLK Jr. Day parade contained nearly 300 parade units according to MLK Jr. Observance Day Association President, Deborah Adams. The parade incorporates organizations and residents from across the community. Each organization is encouraged to give back to those in need, including the association itself.

    On Tuesday, the Office of Student Activities hosted a Cozy Crafting Night, complete with free throw blankets and s’mores. Students could choose from a variety of blanket patterns including penguins, cabins and cupcakes. By following the provided instructions in each blanket kit, students could make fleece tie blankets perfect for staying warm during the holiday season.

    The Office of Student Activities hosted the Stress Free Zone yesterday. An evening with relaxing activities such as calming music, personalized sugar scrubs, DIY eye masks and slippers as well as an opportunity to enjoy an oxygen bar. Students were able to pick from a variety of bases for their scrubs such as sea salt, brown sugar, and white sugar. Essential oils were next, including popular scents like lavender and almond.

Throughout the day, students showed off their best costumes and shared their festive plans for Halloween night. Marcus Moore, a freshman business management major, donned a bright banana costume.
