1 INTRODUCTION Müller glia (MG) are the predominant type of support cell in the retina and are found in the retinas of all vertebrate classes. MG have many important functions that include structural support, synaptic support, osmotic homeostasis, and nutritive/metabolic support to retinal neurons (Bringmann et al., 2006; Jadhav et al., 2006; Newman, 1996; Vecino et al., 2016).
