These sinuses play a crucial role in the proper functioning of the heart and the aortic valve.1 Aneurysms are weaknesses in the walls of the sinuses that can lead to the development of aneurysms. Aneurysms of the sinuses of Valsalva can be congenital or acquired, and they may be associated with conditions such as connective tissue disorders.
