A Brazil woman was arrested on a warrant, or writ of body attachment, involving the death of a young child in May 2024. Hailynn N. Volpatti, 25, was arrested and transported to the Clay County Justice Center around 7 p.m. and remanded into the custody of the jail staff. Volpatti was initially charged with a level one felony of Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Death.

A special anniversary. At 10:54 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2023, Clay County 911 Dispatch Center received a call from Cloverleaf Health Center in Knightsville reporting a fire. First responders from multiple agencies, nursing home staff, and community members immediately sprung into action. All with one goal: to ensure the 71 residents and facility were safe.
