    A Brazil woman was arrested on a warrant, or writ of body attachment, involving the death of a young child in May 2024. Hailynn N. Volpatti, 25, was arrested and transported to the Clay County Justice Center around 7 p.m. and remanded into the custody of the jail staff. Volpatti was initially charged with a level one felony of Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Death.

    Two tribute walls will stand in Brazil, Indiana, a solemn testament to the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It's a community effort as Eliza Rizley Stacey NSDAR, VFW Post 1127, and American Legion Post 2 host the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall and the Some Gave All Moving Tribute at North Clay Middle School. The walls will be displayed outside in the field behind the school, 3450 W State Rd 340, Brazil, IN 47834.
