In classical particle transport, there is an inherent assumption that exponential attenuation holds for the particle flux. Considering, for example, that the scattering centers of a given problem are uncorrelated, as depicted on the left side of Fig. 1, the histogram plot of the distances between collisions of the particles in the system possesses an exponential characteristic according to Beer–Lambert Law.
