Infertility occurs in approximately 8–12% of couples at reproductive age, and males account for 50% of infertile individuals (Agarwal et al., 2021). Notably, the sperm count has decreased by over 50% and has been of poor quality in most countries during recent decades (Sengupta et al., 2017).
