CAPE SAN BLAS, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Gulf County authorities say a man has died after saving his son from a rip current. According to a press release, on Sunday, around 2:00 p.m., Gulf County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call near the 3800 block of Cape San Blas Road about a drowning. Timothy Franklin, 47, of Georgia, drowned while rescuing his son from a rip current, authorities say.
