Campbell County Mayor Jack Lynch started off the meeting by presenting a proclamation declaring June as Elder Abuse Awareness Month in Campbell County.

The committee agreed during the meeting that the base salary for the position will be between $90,000 to $110,000 but that the salary can be negotiated up based on qualifications and experience that selected applicants might have.

The Campbell County High School boys basketball team defeated Jellico 56-46 at home on June 12. "Early in the morning so you don't get all-out effort from them," Campbell County assistant coach Brandon Clawson said. "I thought we started slow, and then we picked it up. This group can play fast, we are going to play hard, but I didn't think we had it to start out. Give Jellico a lot of credit, they're a very good basketball team."

"I thought we were full of energy, running the floor and pushing the break," assistant coach Brandon Clawson said. "Everything we've wanted them to do they were doing against Cumberland Gap. It helps that Will hit probably 5 or 6 threes in that ball game."

The Jellico High School Lady Blue Devils girls basketball team defeated Whitwell 47-25 at Sunbright High School on June 13. Jellico got off to a great start thanks to physical defense that suffocated the Whitwell offense.
