For the Orange, Emma Ward collected her fourth hat trick of the season and starting goalie Daniella Guyette achieved her fourth consecutive double-digit save game in the net.

Syracuse Women’s lacrosse team had their way with UAlbany in the season opener. A team that did not return many players from the prior season answered many questions coming into the game. The trio of Molly Guzik, Mileena Cotter, and Carolina Trinkaus, listed on Inside Lacrosse’s “Top 100 Freshman”, all scored on the day. The game ended in a convincing Orange win, 21-9. The first quarter started out slow, as to to be expected with the first game of the season.

The comeback proved short-lived, as the Lakers scored back-to-back goals to win 4-2, handing the Orange their 10th straight matchup against their conference rival. The Orange had been outshot 33-13 and lost 21 of 34 faceoffs through forty minutes of play. It was an uneven weekend for second-year Head Coach Britni Smith’s young team, which had seven freshmen and another four sophomores in the lineup on Saturday.

Starling scores 26 points to lead Syracuse to second ACC win and second win streak of the season. Jack Henry There is one thing that is clear in the three games since the return of J.J. Starling: Syracuse is going to go as far as he will take it. Starling scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half to turn an eight point Syracuse deficit into a 79-71 win over Boston College at the Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill.

The Orange shoot 50% from the free throw line as their second half comeback falls short. Jack Henry (2024) Syracuse Men’s Basketball lost its first game of the season to the Texas Longhorns on the opening night of the UKG Legends Classic in Brooklyn. The Orange could not overcome a 11-point deficit at halftime and lost 70-66. Syracuse fought in front of what felt like a home crowd at a neutral site.
