Ike Wood Syracuse’s slow starts are their own worst enemy and played a big part in many losses and unacceptable close games so far this season. On Saturday in the JMA Wireless Dome against Bucknell, Syracuse forwards Eddie Lampkin and Donnie Freeman helped break that pattern with a 21-5 run to close out the first half to take a 12-point lead into halftime.

    Five Orange players hit double figures in a commanding win ahead of the ACC showdown. Ike Wood The Women Orange look to extend their two-game win streak ahead of their second ACC game after a commanding 35-point victory over Dartmouth. From start to finish, Syracuse never shot below 45% from the field in any quarter in route to winning 87-52. The score showed dominance, but both teams played sloppily, turning the ball over 20 times for each side.

    Big East energy returns to the Dome as Hoyas outlast Orange 75-71 in rivalry’s 100th meeting. Saturday’s meeting between Syracuse and Georgetown in the JMA Wireless Dome had the same intensity, bitterness and punishing feel as many of the 99 previous showdowns for the long-time rivals. After 40 minutes, 16 lead changes and a persistent on-court chatter between the players, the Orange’s shooting went cold in the final minutes to give the Hoyas the last say and a 75-71 win.

    It was a wild double overtime game at the JMA Wireless Dome Saturday afternoon, as the Youngstown State Penguins took the Orange into double overtime, ultimately losing 104-95. The Orange first-half slow starts on both ends continue to be a pivotal problem after another frustrating grind-out win to start the season but now improved to 3-0. This week has been fantastic for the fanbase as Syracuse legend Carmelo Anthony’s son, Kiyan Anthony, committed to the Orange yesterday.
