In his 17th try, Rory McIlroy has finally won the Masters, completing the career Grand Slam. In what was his 11th attempt at completing the slam, becoming the sixth of all time and first to do so since Tiger Woods in 2000, McIlroy survived a subsequent one-hole playoff against Justin Rose to win his first green jacket. It’s McIlroy’s third win of the year and all have come during what’s been somewhat of a wild gear year for the now five-time major champion.
