Kavanagh, 57, his brother-in law Liam Byrne, 43, and Shaun Kent, 38, tried to dupe the National Crime Agency by obtaining a cache of firearms including seven machine guns. Kavanagh is currently serving a 21-year jail sentence for masterminding a €36million drug smuggling operation.

A DRUG dealer who was accused of supplying firearms to the Kinahan cartel saw charges against him dropped today. Daniel McLoughlin, 37, was accused of providing firearms to Thomas ‘Bomber’ Kavanagh, 57, and his brother-in-law Liam Byrne, 43, who are leading members of the organised crime group. McLoughlin denied two counts of conspiracy to possess a prohibited weapon between 29 April 2020 and 28 May 2020.

Thomas 'Bomber' Kavanagh, the boss of the Kinahan cartel, made a dramatic change of plea in court, admitting to a firearms plot he orchestrated from prison. The police received a desperate 999 call moments before an elderly man on a mobility scooter collapsed and died following a stabbing attack, a court heard. Lee Byer, 45, knifed Thomas O'Halloran in the chest and neck in Greenford, west London on August 16, 2022. After the attack, Mr O'Halloran, originally from Co Clare in Ireland, travelled some 75 yards on his scooter, in an attempt to flag down a member of the public for help.

A distant cousin to King Charles is being hunted by police after he hurled racist abuse in a McDonald's restaurant. Rowan Nash Lascelles, 46, is the King's second cousin once removed and a great-great grandchild of George V. Lascelles, who is 68th in line to the throne, has multiple previous convictions for racially-aggravated criminal offences. He did not attend his latest trial at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, and it went ahead in his absence.
