HELENA, Mont. – Helena High School's track and field team has seen remarkable success in recent years, particularly in the long and triple jump events. Some of this success is attributed to their coach, Andrew Mulvaney, a former state champion himself. Mulvaney, who has been coaching at Helena High for about three years, has led the team to 15 medal wins in the long and triple jump at the state track meet. He shared his passion for coaching, saying, "I just like building them up.

KALISPELL- At the 2025 Class AA State Track and Field meet in Kalispell, Billings Skyview's Rae Smart was down to her final throw in the javelin and sat in second place. Not only would her final throw put her into first place, but it would put her into history books. "It just kept flying," Smart recalled. Her throw of 162 feet 11 inches set the all-class state record in Montana and is the third farthest throw among high schoolers in the nation.

HELENA- Helena High's Madilyn Todorovich won four individual titles (high jump, long jump, 400m and triple jump) at the 2025 Class AA State Track Meet in Kalispell. When she won the triple jump it was her 25th medal at the state meet. According to reporting from 406 MT Sports, that is the most all time of any Montana high school athlete, male or female. Todorovich also has eight individual titles and ten first place medals with relays added.

HELENA- Three Capital High students were honored with the yearly Bob Bean and Jude Gleason Awards. Recipients must not only play multiple sports but also be present in the community and in school. The Jude Gleason award was given to Taylor Zanto who played soccer, basketball and tennis at Capital. The Bob Bean award was given to both Merek Mihelish and Cole Graham.
