When I was a senior in college, and I don’t say how many years it took me to get to that point, I secured a reporter position at a daily newspaper. On my first day on the job, I was introduced to all the staff, including the office workers on the first floor. One of them had been with the newspaper since sometime in the 1950s. She passed retirement age long ago; she just enjoyed the job and the people and did not want to sit around bored.

The Three Forks High School Softball team will look to get back into the win column with two home games on Saturday, April 19. The Lady Wolves (3-6) will host Florence-Carlton at 11 a.m., followed by a 3 p.m. matchup against Mission-Arlee-Charlo (MAC). Three Forks is coming off a busy week of action. They fell at home 10-4 on April 7 against Belgrade, 16-12 on April 8 against Ennis, and 14-6 on April 11 on the road at Manhattan. "It was a tough week. We are seeing some positives with the team.

An ongoing renovation project is bringing plenty of improvements to the Three Forks Community Library. According to Library Director Jaime Ewan, they have updated all interior lighting to LED bulbs, the roof has been re-shingled, new fascia and gutters have been put up, and the overhang on the side of the building was taken down due to safety issues. Ewan and the staff have already received numerous compliments on the new lighting.

Shortly before 10 a.m. on April 12 at the Gallatin Valley Invitational in Belgrade, a multitude of track and field athletes were beginning their preparations for the day's opening events. Among those prepping to compete was Three Forks High School Senior Cass Violett, who showed remarkable focus moments before the 3200-meter race despite the intermittent rain and a few brief minutes of hail.
