In unofficial results from the May 6 election, voters rejected a Public Safety Mill Levy for the Broadwater County Sheriff's Office. The 39.93 mill levy, which would have continued a measure passed five years ago, was defeated by a vote of 1,008 for to 1,608 against. According to the BCSO, the current Mill Levy accounts for approximately one-third of the Sheriff's Office budget.

At a meeting last week, the Gallatin County Commissioners opened four sealed bids for replacing the two bridges on Old Town Road near Three Forks. All four included a base bid for replacing the two bridges and an alternate bid for road construction and the small bridge between the two bridges. "This has been a long day coming," Kathy Thompson of Stahly Engineering told the Commission. The first bid opened was from TCA Group Inc., which had a base bid of $2,844,476 and an alternate bid of $636,990.

The Three Forks High School Golf team did not disappoint in their annual home event. Playing at last Tuesday's Headwaters Invitational in Three Forks, the Wolves Boys' team finished in a tie for first place, and the Girls' team had many strong performances from younger players. Head Coach Aaron Harkins said it was a great tournament, weather-wise and performance-wise, at the Headwaters Golf Course.

Voters turned down on May 6 two General Fund Mill Levies that would have increased staff salaries at the Three Forks Schools. A technology levy at Three Forks High School was also rejected. In the unofficial results from the Gallatin County Elections Office, 481 voted for and 751 voted against the $135,000 Elementary Levy. The $133,000 High School District levy failed by a vote of 458 for and 747 against. The 10-year $20,000 High School Technology Levy failed by a vote of 513 to 709.

When Michael and Roxanne Mulder purchased the property at 275 Old Town Road in Three Forks, one of their visions was to have a community gathering place. Through their business, the Old Town Farmstand, they started to host Second Sunday Markets at the property in 2024. This year, the Sunday Markets are returning on a more regular schedule, including several events in May.

The Three Forks High School Softball team picked up two road wins last week in Deer Lodge. In a doubleheader that had been moved to April 29 due to weather, the Lady Wolves won 25-1 and 20-2 over the Lady Wardens. "We hit from top to bottom and made only a couple of defensive mistakes," Head Coach Clay Feliciano said. In other action from the week, Three Forks lost 11-0 on May 2 in the home finale against Manhattan.

In the second semester of his freshman year, Josh Delger transferred one of his classes from guitar to weightlifting. It would end up being a life-changing decision. A little over a month from graduation at Three Forks High School, the talented senior put an exclamation point on this chapter of his journey in the weight room by winning a national title at the recent 2025 United States Powerlifting Association Junior National Championships in New Orleans.
