Heliot Ramos and Jalen Beeks engaged in an epic confrontation in the bottom of the eighth inning that culminated in a screaming line drive to left field over the head of Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Somehow the lanky outfielder managed to leap high in the air to make a game saving catch. That protected a 2-1 lead, and allowed the Arizona Diamondbacks to win a tense 2-1 ballgame at Oracle Park against the San Francisco Giants.

The Arizona Diamondbacks' affiliates went 3-2 for the evening on Thursday, with a couple of very good starts and a doubleheader sweep included. Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators 4, Reno Aces 0 Yu-Min Lin made his second start of the season, and was very effective, throwing 5.2 innings and allowing two runs, one earned in a tough luck loss. Lin only gave up one hit, walked four batters and struck out five.

When Brandon Pfaadt started Game 3 of the 2023 National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, he began to establish himself as a big game pitcher. While he didn't go very deep in that game, his 4.1 scoreless innings set the tone as the Diamondbacks went on to sweep LA to move on to the NLCS.

HEALTH UPDATESThe Arizona Diamondbacks are very close to getting one member of their originally projected bullpen back, according to updates provided by manager Torey Lovullo. Kendall Graveman started the year on the injured list due to lower back tightness. He finally threw a rehab game for Triple-A Reno on Wednesday. He threw 14 pitches in one scoreless inning, allowing one hit. He touched 96 and sat between 93-95. Graveman will pitch for Reno again on Friday.
