HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Horry County Special Olympics athletes are gearing up for the 2025 Nothing but Net State Basketball Championship on Saturday. Head Coach Van Abbott said this will be their first year back since COVID-19 five years ago. He said the trip will be special and everyone involved is excited. HCSO is bringing three teams to the championship game this year. Abbott said of the 26 athletes, 12 of them have never played in this event before.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Grand Strand Medical Center residents, nurses, and doctors got the chance to step out of the clinical setting to practice hands-on training in an annual field event. Medical students discussed emergency situations during a Wilderness Day event at the Myrtle Beach State Park that helps give them an idea of what their patients may face when trying to get to the emergency room from an outdoor incident.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — The Myrtle Beach International Film Festival returns for its 20th year, set to bring lights, cameras, and lots of action to the Grand Strand. The event started on Tuesday and continues through Saturday and is being held at the Stone Theatres Grand 14 in the Market Common. 53 films and 10 documentaries are set to compete in the festival, with the first showing beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
