A car parked in the street was also searched by officers. A 22-year-old man has been arrested after police in riot gear were seen entering a flat in Edinburgh. Multiple police vehicles, including a dog unit, raced to Birchwood View in Clermiston just before 9am on Thursday, May 29. Officers executed a warrant at a property inside a block of flats, and later arrested the man in connection with drugs offences.

One resident also reported seeing CID officers and a police dog team. A large police presence has stunned residents on a quiet Edinburgh street, who have reported officers wearing "riot gear" entering a building. Multiple police vehicles were seen arriving at Birchwood View in Clermiston just before 9am on Thursday, May 29. An eyewitness told our sister title Edinburgh Live how they saw officers with shields and helmets on scene, as well as CID and a dog unit.

Was a really eye opening experience spending the day in Muirhouse speaking to residents. The condition of Lorraine’s flat was distressing. Fungi and mould was seen growing everywhere. This is in Scotland’s capital city and is all too common.
