Police Scotland officers are continuing to search for a killer at large who is said to have links to Edinburgh. Raymond McCourt, 59, was convicted in 1993 and given a life sentence for murder after he shot shopkeeper Khalid Mahmood in the head and killed him before trying to rob a nearby bakery when he was 27 years old. He also shot a police officer. In 205, he was deemed eligible for release but was soon back behind bars after he was recalled for stealing from his girlfriend.

An Edinburgh family have been left 'petrified' after claiming their pet Teddy was attacked by a larger dog while out for a walk near Arthur's Seat. Paul Donaldson was out for a stroll with his two daughters and their family dog when Teddy was attacked, they say unprovoked, by a larger Lurcher type dog, on Saturday morning, April 12. He told Edinburgh Live they were all walking past Holyrood House when they came face to face with a man and his three dogs.

West Lothian Police have launched an appeal for information after a BMW was stolen from a Broxburn property. Officers are asking anyone with information to get in touch after the silver BMW 420D X-Drive was taken during a break-in and theft on Badger Meadows on Tuesday, April 22. The incident took place between 12am and 12:30am and anyone with private CCTV footage during this time period is also asked to come forward.
