On 50 percent shooting from both the field and beyond the arc, the UW Oshkosh women’s basketball team cruised to a 72-60 victory over UW-Platteville at the Pioneers’ Williams Fieldhouse on Wednesday night. The Titans (18-1, 7-1 WIAC), ranked No. 6 in the nation by D3hoops.com and No. 7 by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, outscored Platteville (8-11, 2-6 WIAC), 43-20, in the first half.

The UW Oshkosh men’s basketball team fell to the No. 4 nationally ranked UW-Platteville Pioneers 86-73 at the Kolf Sports Center on Wednesday. Oshkosh was led by Carter Thomas, who scored a season high 27 points along with five rebounds, two steals and a block in his 40 minutes on the hardwood. Brandon Beck notched 15 points, six rebounds, and two blocks.

The Wisconsin Herd won their second straight game after taking down the Delaware Blue Coats 128-114 at the Oshkosh Arena Wednesday night. The Herd (8-7) had their three-game winning streak snapped by the Capitol City Go-Go on Saturday, but Wisconsin got back in the win column with a 91-81 victory over the Windy City Bulls Sunday afternoon.

The third quarter made the difference in Saturday’s mid-afternoon matchup between the UW Oshkosh women’s basketball team and UW-River Falls at the Falcons’ Don Page Arena. The Titans (17-1, 6-1 WIAC) led 33-27 at the half on 13-of-26 from the field, however River Falls 11-7, 3-4 WIAC) secured the lead with a 21-10 third period and retained the edge down the stretch to hand the No. 4 ranked Titans their first loss of the season by a 64-59 score.

Carter Thomas, Joey LaChapell, Brandon Beck and Reed Seckar all scored more than 10 points as the UW Oshkosh men’s basketball team took down UW-River Falls 81-68 at the Kolf Sports Center Saturday. In a game the Titans never trailed, they shot 47.9% from the field and 52.5% from 3-point range. Oshkosh (11-7, 2-5 WIAC) also scored 22 points both in the paint and off the bench, and 12 both off turnovers and on second chances.
