Banff residents will vote in a plebiscite on Monday to determine if a pedestrian zone on Banff Avenue should continue between the May long weekend and the Thanksgiving long weekend.
The polls are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The result of the vote will be binding.
Since the summer of 2020, the mountain town has closed a section on Banff Avenue to vehicles so people can safely enjoy the street full of shops and restaurants.
However, not everyone likes the concept.

I’m a hopeless technophobe. I dislike the stylish laptop I’m using and its subdued pad pad pad. I still long for the clatter and ting of my old typewriter. It was a sturdy soul, utterly obedient, only needing a new ribbon occasionally. It lived for 40 years before being interred in a quiet corner of my attic.

I’m not a very sporty person but the Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Feist film has turned me into a tennis super fan… only when fictional, obviously. When I was watching Challengers, I couldn’t help but think about one novel I read by my favourite author Taylor Jenkins Reid.

If you’re looking for a novel that isn’t 800 pages and won’t take a lifetime to read then I’ve got a recommendation for you. I wish I was the type of person who could blitz through hefty novels, but a 300-page contemporary fiction book is the way to my heart. This year, I’ve been trying to focus on reading books that I want to rather than what’s trending on BookTok. I was kindly sent a copy of The Couples by Lauren Mackenzie and it was always standing out whenever I looked through my bookshelves.
