An Irish man has tragically died in a drowning incident in Malta. According to reports, a 76-year-old man sadly drowned in St Julian’s, near the Cavalieri Hotel, in St Julian’s Bay. He got into difficulty when swimming on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency services were alerted and rushed to the scene of the drowning shortly after 12.40 pm. Members of the Armed Forces of Malta and Civil Protection also attended the scene.

Three children are among the six people who have died after a helicopter crashed into New York’s Hudson River on Thursday. Those that lost their lives in the tragedy include Siemens executive Agustin Escobar, his wife, Merce Camprubi Montal, and three children, as well as the pilot.
