"Sine Die" has officially arrived for the 83rd Nevada Legislature, which adjourned roughly a half hour after midnight on June 3. Around 20 minutes after midnight, 20 minutes after the midnight deadline for the conclusion of the 83rd Nevada Legislature, the president of the State Senate called for a recess ahead of the adjournment. Both the Senate and the Assembly have adjourned.

Nevada Assembly Speaker Steve Yeager (D) is trying to let non-partisan voters be involved in primary elections. "Parties are not weakened by participation, they are strengthened by it," Yeager said. Earlier this week, Yeager introduced an emergency bill looking to do just that. Assembly Bill 597 got its first hearing in the joint meeting of both the Senate and Assembly Committees on Legislative Operations and Elections Thursday evening.

The clock is ticking at the Nevada Legislature, and there are still a lot of bills at play. This includes all five of Governor Joe Lombardo's priority bills. It was heard in a joint meeting of the Senate and Assembly on Health and Human Services. "Adequate and timely access to health care remains a pressing challenge for many Nevadans including myself and my family," the Governor said during the initial testimony for the bill.

On Saturday, the legislation passed out of the Assembly Committee on Ways and Means. The project is trying to utilize transferable tax credits once the studios are in full production. One of the first proposed amendments in the bill is increasing those tax credits the studios can get from $80 million to $95 million every fiscal year. The last time the bill was heard was May 9.
