That's what fans needed to hear. There's been what can be classified as fear, nervousness, anxiety, or whatever other word you feel is appropriate about drafting Dylan Harper. Skeptics are unsure of how he'll fit next to De'Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle. After last night's event, Spurs general manager Brian Wright was asked about those reservations, and he had a very direct answer that should calm those feelings. A thread of Brian Wright's comments after the 2025 NBA Draft.

This can be very simple. Draft night is here, and the Spurs have the second overall pick. Dallas will choose first, so Cooper Flagg will be making his home in North Texas. When San Antonio's turn rolls around, the start to a perfect evening really begins, and it starts with selecting Dylan Harper. There are two ways that I see easily see SA pulling off a flawless draft, and both of them start with selecting Harper. There's no need to consider that part.

Thank you for your service to the Silver and Black. The Spurs are going to need to address several positions in free agency, none more important than the backup center position. Bismack Biyombo filled in admirably when San Antonio needed a body, but his time in the 210 is likely over, as it should be. In 28 games with the Silver and Black, Biyombo averaged 5.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.8 blocks in 18.9 minutes per game. SA's next backup big will need to give them much more than that.

They have the bragging rights... for now. Congratulations to OKC and everything, I guess, but this is most certainly an awful development for the sanity of Spurs fans. The San Antonio and Oklahoma City have been rivals ever since the Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili Big 3 era clashed with the Thunder's Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook saga.

How will the chips fall now? Myles Turner is an unrestricted free agent now that the 2024-25 NBA campaign has finally come to a close. Before the second game of the NBA Finals, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Indiana would be willing to enter the luxury tax to re-sign their stretch big man, but that was before Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles in game seven. That could change everything for the Pacers. Indy is notoriously cheap.
