    COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — We’ve been telling you about the extreme cold temps outside. Tuesday morning, the worst of it is here. Many schools have already been delayed or canceled. As far as the big three… D49 is canceled Tuesday. D11 and D20 are on 2-hour delays. I met with David Nancarrow. He’s the spokesman for D49. I’m told the district covers 133 square miles and that a lot of prep is needed to get the schools ready. Also, students and staff must travel long distances to get to school.

    One person is dead and two others injured after a shooting in Security-Widefield early Thursday morning. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of shots fired at about 1 a.m., Thursday in the 7000 block of Dove Creek Circle in the Security-Widefield area, according to Gazette news partner KOAA 5. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect or suspects Thursday tied to a shooting south of Colorado Springs.

If that’s part of your commute, you’ve probably already noticed cars swerving around potholes. I know I have! Highway 115 Work Take a look at this map below. It shows all the planned 2025 CDOT roadwork in southern Colorado. There are three projects to our northwest, in the mountains.

    MONUMENT, CO — We want to check in with you on the north side of Colorado Springs. That's because snow is expected to affect the commute to Denver via I25 Thursday. While snow may not be falling in southern Colorado Springs, it certainly is up here. We noticed the roads started to get more snow-packed and icy just north of Interquest and I25 in Colorado Springs. If your travel plans take you north on I25 to Denver on Thursday, give yourself some extra time.

    COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Not everyone has somewhere inside to go when temperatures drop. But one group is trying to make sure everyone has somewhere to go. Hope COS is working to keep people warm during freezing temperatures. They have two shelters open right now. The group says they’re serving more than just meals in a warm room. Jesse Sandlin, Shelter Manager tells me "What better way to serve the community than be a part of it and so when people come here we make them feel welcome.
