Brighton folk-punk quartet The New Eves have released their latest creation in the form of the single “Astrolabe”. The new track, released on Tuesday via Slow Dance Recordings, is the group’s third since the debut double release of “Mother” and “Original Sin” back in July 2023.

Veteran indie rockers Kasabian have shared a new single, “Call”, and have announced a new album from which the single will come. Happenings will be the eighth studio album to date for the Leicester band and is scheduled for release on July 5.

The first line up for the 2024 edition of End Of The Road festival has been announced, with Idles, Slowdive, Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Fever Ray set to headline the event. Over artists that will feature this year include American indie rock bands Yo La Tengo and Sleater-Kinney, Irish folk quartet Lankum, singer-songwriter Baxter Dury and electropop duo Jockstrap. Belfast-based rap trip Kneecap have sought to take legal action against Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch and the British government following the decision from Badenoch and the government to block the group from receiving arts funding. The Belfast law firm Phoenix Law have agreed to represent Kneecap in this ongoing matter. Kneecap have claimed the UK government blocked the grant, or the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) funding award, worth £15,000 in a bid to “silence” them.

Scottish shoegaze band The Jesus And Mary Chain have released another single ahead of their upcoming album drop later this year. “Chemical Animal” will feature on the band’s eighth studio album to date, Glasgow Eyes, which is set to be released on March 8 via Fuzz Club.

English indie rock group Bombay Bicycle Club have announced a surprise release in the form on an EP, Fantasies, that is scheduled to be released on February 23. The release will arrive shortly after the end of their upcoming UK and Ireland tour, that will commence on January 29 in Belfast and conclude on February 18 in Cardiff. Surprise! We have a new EP coming out next month.

The City of Leeds has announced an initiative that calls upon past concertgoers to upload their historic gig tickets online for the viewing pleasure of others. The Historic Live Music Project, launched by Leeds Libraries, allows the citizens of Leeds, and indeed anyone else who has visited the city, the chance to share their past concert tickets from iconic Leeds’ gigs to the online archive Leodis, an archive that celebrates the history of the city.
