FRANKFORT, Ind. — It was rainy in Frankfort the day Pfc. Clossie Brown was buried for the second time. The ground was frozen when he died. His granddaughter Roslyn Clendenning, initially wanted to bury him in Arlington National Cemetery, but was told they don’t take caskets anymore. She went to check out a family plot instead, just off the side of the highway toward Michigantown, Indiana. kAm(96? After several meetings and a bit of compromise, the City of Logansport donated on Monday a portion of Dunwoody Park to a local business. The land went to Peak Community Services, the city’s fifth largest employer, which aims to support people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Among the company’s services, it rents housing to clients and staffs the buildings with employees who are able to take care of the clients.

The sun shined in a clear, blue sky late Saturday morning. It was nice weather for the hundreds of people who walked the grounds of the Logansport State Hospital during the annual Stomp Out the Stigma walk. Many had slips of paper attached to the back of their shirts. They named loved ones who died from suicide. kAm#9@?52 |FCC2J[ AC6D:56?E @7 E96 r2DD r@F?EJ +6C@ $F:4:56 %2D< u@C46 E92E @C82?:K65 E96 H2=<[ H@C6 @?6 @7 E96 D=:AD] $96 H2D E96C6 E@ 9@?@C 96C D@?]k^Am kAm“xE’D 2 D:8?

Gathering in an empty lot covered with dirt and patches of grass, a family envisioned life in a new neighborhood. Habitat for Humanity of Cass County broke ground Saturday for its community build home. Construction should be wrapped up by autumn. The ceremony started off with some prayers. “I thank you, God, for the location. I thank you for the peace that already rests on this property,” Benjamin Grant, vice president of the local Habitat for Humanity board, said with his head bowed.
