    HAMLET, N.C. — A 7-month-old child has died after being found unresponsive in a vehicle on Charlotte Street, according to the Hamlet Police Department. Officers responded to a medical emergency at a residence around 6 p.m. on Monday. Upon arrival, officers discovered the infant unresponsive and immediately began life-saving efforts, police said. Emergency Medical Services arrived shortly after and transported the child to a hospital, where the child was later pronounced dead.
