The 2024 draft class was viewed as a historic collection of offensive talent, stacked with blue-chip prospects at offensive tackle, quarterback and wide receiver. And NFL teams confirmed this by selecting a record 23 offensive players in the first round. Some rookies didn't just get picked; they landed in ideal situations that maximize their strengths and offer a clear path to early impact. The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft did not disappoint. These are my thoughts on the most surprising picks from night one. The first surprise of the night was the Cowboys selecting Tyler Booker with the 12th pick. While I would have personally gone with Matthew Golden here, I don’t think this was an egregious reach by any means.
