    KAPIT (May 11): A lucky fisherman landed a massive 7.2-kilogramme (kg) ‘ikan ketutu’ (marble goby) using a line and hook in the Rejang River near Kapit this morning. The fisherman then took the live fish to the Terasang Market, where it fetched him a significant sum. Fishmonger Lawrence Bangit purchased the impressive catch and offered it for sale at RM75 per kg.

    KAPIT (May 7): A total of 110 saplings of various tree species have been planted at the Kapit Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) headquarters compound. Bomba conducted the greening programme to commemorate World Forest Day yesterday in collaboration with the Kapit Forest Office. Kapit fire station chief Timothy Barat, who officiated at the event, thanked the Kapit Forest Office for helping to create awareness of the importance of tree planting to counter global warning.

A more recent estimate from 2022, based on 141 million participants across 1,108 population-representative studies, indicated that 828 million adults had diabetes, with an age-standardized prevalence of 13.9% for women and 14.3% for men2.
