High Court in Edinburgh (Image: Newsquest) A CRIMINAL serving time for large-scale drug dealing made almost half a million pounds in ill-gotten gains from his participation in the illegal trade, a court heard. Dale Templeton, 29, made a total of £442,000 in ill-gotten gains during his time as a drug dealer. The news emerged during a hearing at the High Court in Edinburgh.

A chip shop worker from Fife gave a lift to a customer, then tried to rape her while she slept. Guray Eskicioglu, 61, preyed on the woman at a house in Dunfermline. The High Court in Edinburgh heard how Eskicioglu had got to know his victim through his work in a fast food outlet in the city. The court heard how he regularly gave her lifts and she felt safe in his company. On the night of April 29 2022, Eskicioglu betrayed her confidence and sexually assaulted her.

A profoundly deaf criminal who tried to mow down two police officers has been jailed for five years. George Drinnan, 39, repeatedly tried to strike PCs Matthew Rhind and Younis Yaqub with his BMW in Dundee in February 2023. The High Court in Edinburgh heard the repeat offender was driving without insurance and had been banned from driving at the time.

Catriona Roberts, 22, was admonished in March this year for her role in a protest at a UK Government building in Edinburgh. Roberts, of Glasgow, was told she’d face no further penalty other than a criminal record following proceedings at the sheriff court in the Scottish capital.
