Questions, questions – oh, I have so, so many. But in thinking about how to approach this, I took a look back at my history at The Valley Breeze. You see, in a few weeks’ time, The Breeze will celebrate our 29th birthday. 29 years might not seem like a big deal, but for me, I’ve been a part of The Valley Breeze for 30 years. Tom Ward and I started discussions and planning back in early 1995. Our goal was simple — we wanted to be a family-friendly paper.

In 2009, TV writers Trevor Suthers and John Chambers puttogether a night of short, brand new plays written by establishedTV writers which took its name from its original venue, the JoshuaBrooks pub on Princess Street in Manchester. Fifteen years on, and now at fringe venue 53two, JBShorts is an established biannual event on the Manchestertheatre calendar with its two-week runs of six 15-minute plays.
