Leeds United are heading for the Premier League after winning promotion on Easter Monday. LUFC rise from the Championship at the second time of asking, avoiding the uncertainty of the play-offs this time around. The Whites did their part by thumping Stoke City 6-0 before Burnley’s win over Sheffield United secured a top-two finish for themselves and the Elland Road outfit. The focus now turns to winning the title, but many are looking at a crucial summer transfer window that lays beyond that.

Sheffield Wednesday are heading for an uncertain summer with questions over Danny Rohl’s future and speculation circulating over a potential SWFC takeover. The Owls will be in need of new recruits when the transfer window comes around, with manager Rohl insisting failure to recruit well could leave them in a relegation scrap next season. Leyton Orient welcome Wycombe Wanderers to Brisbane Road looking to hold onto their place in the League One play-offs. LOFC sit 6th, level on points with Reading behind them but with a better goal difference. Given Bolton Wanderers’ goal difference in 7th, it will be one of the O’s or the Royals who land 6th. Stockport County can not be caught in 5th. Richie Wellens’ side have thoroughly impressed this season and look to have found form again at the perfect time.

Wrexham come into this weekend’s game with Charlton Athletic in the driving seat for a third consecutive automatic promotion. While the Chairboys were thumped at home by upcoming opponents CAFC, the Red Dragons emerged victorious on the road against Blackpool. Quick-fire second half goals from James McClean and Ollie Rathbone made the difference.

Sheffield United make the trip to Stoke City having seen their automatic promotion hopes ended on Monday. SUFC could have kept their slim chances of a top-two finish alive by avoiding defeating against Burnley, but they were beaten 2-1 at Turf Moor. Josh Brownhill scored either side of Tom Cannon’s first goal for the Blades. The result secured Burnley’s promotion while sending Yorkshire rivals Leeds United up in the process.
