    FOLSOM — A first-of-its-kind boating ban is going into effect at Folsom Lake. It comes just as the weather is warming up and many people are looking to take their boats out for the first time this season. Beginning next Monday, and lasting for 30 days, all motorboats will be banned. After that, all motorized vessels will need to be inspected by state parks staff and then wait 30 days before they can launch at Folsom Lake.

Now, Sacramento County could soon have its own permanent wildlife feed. Alan Friedman is the man behind Sacramento's salmon cam. "Technology has been amazing to assist us in observing wildlife," he said. It's a first-of-its-kind project along the American River Parkway.

    SACRAMENTO — There soon may be more dancing, DJs and live music in Sacramento. Sacramento's nighttime economy manager, Tina Lee-Vogt, said that many places like wine bars, coffee shops, bookstores and breweries were unable to offer live music in the past due to high city fees. "The cost of a permit is about $2,200 for a two-year permit, and it did price people out," Lee-Vogt said.
