    The inquest into the death of a soldier who was found in his room at an Army base has returned an open verdict. The body of Lance Corporal Bernard Mongan, who was serving with 1 Military Intelligence, was discovered on January 23rd, 2020 – three weeks after he had last been seen. John Heath, the senior coroner for North Yorkshire, ruled that he was unable to determine whether LCpl Mongan had died as a result of suicide or natural causes, in part due to the level of decomposition that had occurred.

    "Alliances worked then, and they work now."Kingsmen from the 1st Battalion, the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, have paid their respects to British and French soldiers lost at the Battle of Waterloo, while marking the 210th anniversary of the event that brought decades of stability and peace to Europe. The men and women from Weeton Barracks in Preston, known as Kingos, led the commemorations, which included wreath-laying ceremonies at memorials honouring all the belligerents of the battle.

Lieutenant Commander Oli Brown, who was awarded an MBE in recognition of the policy work he led in the Armed Forces, submitted allegations of discrimination and career mismanagement to Admiral Sir Ben Key, then First Sea Lord, in early 2024.
