    An inquest into the death of a serving Royal Signals soldier has heard how one of his superiors shared degrading videos of his "humiliations" in a WhatsApp group chat. Lance Corporal Bernard Mongan's body was discovered in his room at a barracks in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, in January 2020. The inquest previously heard that LCpl Mongan had lain dead in his room for some time, after last being seen alive on or around 27 December 2019 – three weeks before his body was found.

    Veterans Minister Al Carns and three Special Forces veterans have arrived safely back at London's Heathrow airport, after their record-breaking Mount Everest expedition. The four men, draped in traditional Tibetan scarves, were greeted by family and friends. They completed the journey from London to the peak of Everest and back in just seven days, setting a new record. The men were all in good spirits, however, they said the journey to the summit was at times extremely challenging.

    The 85th anniversary of the evacuation of Dunkirk has been commemorated by 64 of the original little ships, leaving Ramsgate and heading back to the beaches. At exactly 06:00 on the dot, the first of the historic vessels began moving away from the pontoons inside Ramsgate Harbour. Thousands of people had gathered to wave them on their way. All 64 of the ships leaving had taken part in the famous evacuation of nearly 340,000 British and Allied troops from Dunkirk in 1940.
