North Atlantic sea surface temperatures have literally been while Antarctica shrunk to record lows in July. Mega-fires in Canada have burned an area roughly while flooding from torrential rains has killed thousands in Libya.

Given Witchfire’s religious overtones, it seems appropriate to start with a bit of a confession: I didn’t really know anything about the game when I booted it up. It was a title that had been in my peripheral vision for many years. Occasionally popping up in hopeful ‘upcoming shooters of 20XX’ videos. But details were exceedingly sparse on the ground beyond a few trailers. Honestly, I’d pretty much written it off as another sorry victim of development hell, never to see the light of day.

I’m assuming there will be another piece of Resident Evil 4 DLC. If there is, there’s one thing it needs to do to become truly epic. And it pertains to the Merchant. But let me just back up quickly. Why do I think that Capcom’s not quite done with Resident Evil 4? Well, there’s a financial reason, for one thing. Not only has the game already sold, but it’s done so quicker than any entry into the series since 2009’s Resident Evil 5.

Monster Mania: Operation Raccoon City is A Misguided Monster Mash Monster Mania is a weekly column celebrating the unique and varied monster designs in horror gaming. I don’t subscribe to the idea that spinoffs can damage a series’ legacy. And while it certainly helps when the legacy in question is one as storied as Resident Evil’s, I view spinoffs in the same vein as remakes of beloved films.
