Alabama guard Mark Sears was named to the All-SEC first team. This marks the second consecutive year Sears has earned a spot on the All-SEC first team. Sears is the Tide's leading scorer again this season, averaging 19.2 points per game. Alabama guard Labaron Philon was named to the All-SEC freshman team. Philon played in all 31 games for the Crimson Tide in the regular season. He has averaged 10.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this season.
Jax State's Harper named CUSA Coach of the Year, Pierre named player of the year

Jax State took home a total of six Conference USA postseason awards on Monday, highlighted by Ray Harper being named the Gene Bartow Conference USA Coach of the Year. Harper takes home the Gene Bartow Conference USA Coach of the Year award after leading the Gamecocks to their sixth season with 20+ wins in Division I program history, five of which have come under Harper. Jax State's Jaron Pierre Jr. was also named the Conference USA Player of the Year.
Auburn's Johni Broome named SEC Player of the Year

Auburn's Johni Broome was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Year on Monday. Broome is the third-ever played in program history to be honored as SEC Player of the Year along with Charles Barkley and Chris Porter. Broome was also named to the All-SEC First Team for the second season in a row. He currently ranks among the Top 5 in career blocks at Auburn. Broome averaged 18.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.4 blocks over the course of this season, leading Auburn in each category.
Auburn's Bruce Pearl named SEC Coach of the Year

The SEC unveiled its men’s basketball post season awards Monday as selected by the league’s head coaches. Auburn's Bruce Pearl was named 2025 SEC Coach of the Year. This is the second time Pearl's won the award while coaching at Auburn. He won it in 2022 and twice previously with Tennessee in 2006 and 2008. Pearl led the Tigers to a regular season conference title and a 27-4 overall record this season. Earlier this year, Pearl became the all-time winningest coach in AU history with 227 career wins.
Auburn's Hugh Freeze diagnosed with prostate cancer

Auburn head football coach Hugh Freeze was diagnosed with an early form of prostate cancer. It was detected early and Freeze's doctors have advised it is very treatable and curable. Freeze will continue his coaching duties and responsibilities, and with forthcoming proper treatment, is expected to make a full recovery.
