KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Lee's Summit Police Department says a police officer was shot multiple times late Sunday night on a domestic disturbance call. Police say officers were called to the 3500 block of SW Hollywood Drive about 11 p.m.Police say as the first officer arrived on scene in the apartment complex and while waiting for his assisting officer, the officer saw a man running from the scene. The officer chased the suspect on foot and quickly advised via the radio that shots had been fired.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Police say a juvenile riding a Predator minibike was injured in a crash Sunday night. Police say the juvenile was traveling northbound on North Hunter and failed to stop for a posted stop sign at the intersection of North Hunter and NE 108th. Police say the juvenile entered the intersection and struck a maroon Toyota Avalon that was traveling eastbound on NE 108th. Police say the juvenile was not wearing a helmet and was ejected off the minibike.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Independence Police say one person was shot Monday night at Patio 816. Police say they were called to the restaurant just east of I-70 and I-470 about 8:45 p.m. They say one man was shot during a disturbance. He has non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. One person of interest was taken into custody. The shooting is under investigation.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Independence Police Department is investigating two motorcycle crashes that happened on westbound U.S. 24 Highway, prior to Elsea Smith Road. Police say the first incident involved a westbound 2021 Indian motorcycle that left the road and collided with a utility pole about 11:30 p.m.The motorcyclist was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene. Police say the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Westbound I-70 west of I-470 is closed because of an overturned tractor-trailer. The Missouri Highway Patrol says the semi overturned about 1:30 a.m.The Highway Patrol says there are injuries, but the extent is unknown at this time. MSHP believes the road will be closed for hours. In addition to westbound I-70, the 291 southbound exit to I-70 westbound, as well as the northbound I-470 exit to I-70 westbound are closed.
