COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Officials gathered on May 23, 2025 at the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office to provide updates on the arrest of Jon Worrell, 58, in connection to the 2006 murder of his wife, Doris Worrell. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and Waycross Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office were present. Doris Worrell was shot and killed on September 20, 2006, inside Jon’s Sports Park.

(WALB) - On Tuesday, May 20, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced Jon Worrell, 58, has been arrested and charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Aggravated Battery in the 2006 murder of his wife, 39-year-old Doris Worrell. Jon was living in Missouri when he was taken into custody earlier this week.

BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) – WALB has confirmed that Thomas Hubert Parker Jr., of Bainbridge, was arrested on May 15, 2025, for allegedly shooting parts of the school zone speed equipment on Shotwell Street, according to investigators with Bainbridge Public Safety.
