    WILCOX COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating a deadly shooting in Pineview that left two people dead early Sunday morning. According to the GBI, the shooting happened around midnight on May 25 at a home on the 200 block of Depot Street, where several people had gathered. Someone opened fire, striking two men. Both victims — 36-year-old Nathadius Kenta Lawson and 40-year-old Charleston Calix, both of Pineview — died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

(WALB) - Officials gathered on May 23, 2025 at the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office to provide updates on the arrest of Jon Worrell, 58, in connection to the 2006 murder of his wife, Doris Worrell. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and Waycross Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office were present. Doris Worrell was shot and killed on September 20, 2006, inside Jon’s Sports Park.

    COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left two men injured early Sunday morning. According to CCSO officials, the incident happened shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Highway 221 near the 17 Mile River bridge. Both men were transported to Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas for treatment. Multiple shell casings were found at the scene on the bridge. The vehicle the two men were in was located and showed several bullet holes.
