Bin strike backers from around the country have descended on Birmingham today in a co-ordinated show of strength. The group - numbering over 100 and growing - appear to have shut down Lifford Lane depot, one of the three main Birmingham City Council depots. It means bin crews are unlikely to get out of the depot this morning. Protestors proclaimed they had 'shut down' the depot as a result.
